Magnificent Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe - a grieving nation

Zimbabwe does have a cogent cord as most African countries slimming from poverty to the deadly virus,HIV.Aids has unleashed menace on all corners of the country colluding Zimbabwe as the world's nucleus and ware of Aids(in terms of countries mostly affected). The country does have the most shocking Aids statistics in the world which has lowered life expectancy to 49 from its peak of 61.

The orphan population is growing by the day, with an increasing number of households being headed either by teenagers or geriatrics. No one really is attacking the ignorance in peoples attitude towards HIV.On offer is only large words exploding the dangers of HIV ignoring that the disease has already arrived.

Poverty has made hospitals a luxury for many-the asking price of Z$150 (US$2.5) for initial treatment has frozen many at home. This has also given a gap for fake prophets and witch-doctors to prey on the innocent.

Zimbabwe has been living under ESAP since 1990.The Economical Structural Adjustment Programme and tough stances from The World Bank and IMF have all been a kick in the bucket for the poor. There is raising unemployment, raising food prices and inflation.
The country has introduced power cuts in towns and cities for at least six hours a week!Foreign currency is a problem giving a raise to a flouring black market.Former Liberation Fighters have been at wits with farmers over land. There are mild clashes between political parties.Sadly there are visible cases of human rights abuse!

If speculation should go any way right - Zimbabwe might be in trouble for the next few years.Major education institutions have had their catering privatised making basic food expensive! These turbulences have spilled emigration of young people to neighbouring countries and overseas!
