Customs and duty issues

Personal possessions not intended for disposal or sell in Zimbabwe are entry duty-free. This also applies to consumable goods, which are not merchandise imported for trade purposes may be imported up to US$250 (or Zimbabwe equivalent) per person.

Temporary import permits should be completed for cameras etc. Alcoholic beverages may be included in your allowance by persons 18yrs and over, subject to a limit of 5 litres per person, of which no more than 2 litres may be spirits. Family members may not aggregate their allowances.

The equivalent of US$500 only, can be imported or exported in cash, and of that, the maximum in Zimbabwe dollars is $2000. Any amount of foreign currency in travellers cheques is permitted.
